Summer is on it’s way! It’s time to start preparing for the hot weather and family cook-outs. Check out these tips on how to get your yard ready for summer by ehow.com!
Start by getting out all of your lawn and patio furniture. Clean it off with the garden hose and a mild cleaning agent. Everyone loves a good summertime get together. You will need somewhere to sit and entertain your guests or just relax by yourself.
Eliminate insects and pests from your yard by mowing your lawn on a regular basis. If you have trouble with mosquitos around your home, get some help eliminating them by using a bug spray that you can purchase at any home and garden center that will attach directly to your garden hose. It can be sprayed on your lawn and is not harmful to children or animals. You can also use citronella candles or tiki torches with citronella oil in them while you are relaxing outside on your deck.
Put your screens back in your windows and open them up to air out the house. This will keep the bugs out and allow the fresh air in. It will also allow you to hear what the kids are doing in the backyard.
Your children will be playing out in the lawn more in the summer than any other season. Barefeet will be used more than shoes. Make sure the lawn is safe for the kids to play in by removing all rocks, tree branches, sticky weeds, and dog waste.
- Now that you have your home ready for a fun filled summer, sit down on your patio or deck and enjoy the weather with a cold glass of ice tea.
